Sofar Sounds aka. ‘Songs From a Room’ began in London (where else!?) it’s an an innovative concept / World smashing musical movement dedicated to bringing the best new music to intimate, unusual spaces – most often someone’s living room. Frustrated with the ‘zero connection’ in packed out stadiums, Rafe launched Sofar to offer an Unplugged and stripped down live experience for music lovers. Well, he was clearly onto something, since launch in 2009, Sofar has grown into a truly global movement, showcasing incredible new musical talent in over 100 cities Worldwide.

In this inspiring talk, Rafe explains how a simple idea caught the imagination of music lovers across the world. Starting as an underground experience, Sofar soon swelled to a global community of epic proportions, constituting fans, aficionados and a few superstars (Karen O, The National) among its ever increasing membership. In the true spirit of Sofar, he also passes the stage over to one of his favourite new artists, Norma Jean Martine.
