The Lost Lectures

How to make it on YouTube (if you’re not a piano playing cat)

Tom and Matt walk us through some of the stranger success stories on this platform, share some interesting stats (on a rather nice pie chart) and compare the whole thing to a glamourised version of ‘You’ve Been Framed’: one that, if used right, can actually be a springboard to success in the world of entertainment.

Speaker Tom Williams & Matt Lacey

Tom and Matt are part of the brilliant comedy collective ‘The Unexpected Items’. Matt wrote and performed a sketch called “Gap Yah” which a few (million) people watched on You Tube; he’s had multiple TV appearances and released a book off the back of the sketch: “Gap Yah Planet”.  Tom is another YouTube sensation (aka attention-seeker), having written “Newport State of Mind”, voted No 1 viral of the year by The Guardian 2010.  They’ve taken Edinburgh by storm on several occasions, they both enjoy comedy and have been described as “frequently hilarious”.
