James is an Emmy-winning documentary filmmaker whose films address often difficult subjects like police shootings in America and homelessness in Britain. His stories frequently come from the world’s most dangerous and inaccessible places – like North Korea (The Secret State of North Korea), Gaza (Children of the Gaza War) and Saudi Arabia (Saudi Arabia Uncovered). Most recently, he co-directed the Emmy-nominated ‘Mosul’ and the feature doc ‘On The President’s Orders’ about the drug war in the Philippines. James joins us to discuss his experiences reporting on the unseen in some of the world’s most dangerous totalitarian states.
